How the sum works.
Calls a week × the share you miss = calls missed a week.
Calls missed × the share who ring someone else = callers who go elsewhere.
Those callers × the share of answered calls that become paid work = jobs that may go elsewhere.
Jobs × what a typical job is worth = the estimate. A month is 52 weeks divided by 12; a year is 52 weeks.
What it can’t tell you
- Some missed callers ring back, text or email instead. The third box is where you allow for them.
- It counts turnover, not profit, and it treats every job as your typical job.
- A caller who goes elsewhere once may still come back another time. The calculator can’t see that.

Is this what I’m actually losing?
No, it’s an estimate built from your own guesses. It shows the size of the problem if your figures are close. It’s also turnover, not profit: take off your costs to see what the missed work would have left you with.
Where do the example figures come from?
They’re examples so the calculator has something to work with. They aren’t averages or research. Replace every one with your own figures.
How do I find my real missed-call numbers?
Your phone’s call log, or your business phone app, shows missed calls. Count them for two normal weeks, and note how many of those people you reached when you rang back. That gives you real figures for the first two boxes.
Would a text back win these callers back?
Some of them, not all. A quick text tells the caller you’ve seen the call and when you’ll ring, which gives them a reason to wait. Nobody can honestly say how many will. Read how missed-call text-back works.
Do the figures I type go anywhere?
No. The sums run in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to M1 or anyone else, and nothing is stored. Close the page and it’s gone.
