Websites, local search and missed-call text-back for plumbers
M1 Studio builds websites for plumbers and heating engineers, sets up your Google Business Profile, and texts back the calls you miss while you’re under a sink. Your registrations, such as Gas Safe or WaterSafe, sit where customers can see them.

What gets in the way for plumbers.
- Emergency calls go to whoever answers
- Someone with water coming through the ceiling won’t wait for a call back. If you’re mid-job and can’t pick up, they ring the next plumber on the list.
- Your hands are full when the phone rings
- You’re under a sink or up in a loft. A text that goes out on its own when you miss a call tells them you’ve seen it and that you’ll ring back.
- Registrations nobody can see
- Gas Safe registration is a legal must for gas work, and WaterSafe shows you belong to an approved plumber scheme. If those details are buried or missing online, customers can’t check them, and a rival who shows them looks safer.
- Directory leads you share
- Checkatrade and MyBuilder can bring work, but you pay to be there and sit next to other plumbers on the same page. Your own website and Google profile are the places you don’t share.
How your customers choose.
When a pipe bursts or the hot water stops, people search “plumber near me” on their phone and ring the first few names in the map results. They glance at the star rating, how recent the reviews are and whether you cover their area. For boiler and gas work they check you’re on the Gas Safe Register. Bigger jobs, like a new bathroom, get a slower look: they may compare plumbers on Checkatrade or MyBuilder, look at photos of past work on your website, and ask more than one of you to quote.

Do plumbers need a website if they’re on Checkatrade?
A directory profile helps, but you share the page with other plumbers and you don’t control it. Your own site is where you show your registrations, your photos and the areas you cover, and your Google profile can link straight to it.
If you’re not sure what you need, the website cost guide sets out the options.
How does missed-call text-back work for a plumber?
When a call goes unanswered, the caller gets an automatic text saying you’ve seen the call and will ring back. They can reply with what’s wrong and where they are, so you know which call to return first. Read how missed-call text-back works.
Should my website mention Gas Safe?
If you do gas work, yes. Customers can check you on the Gas Safe Register, so show your registration number and the kinds of gas work you’re registered for. If you don’t do gas work, say so clearly, so nobody calls you for a boiler job.
