Websites and enquiry systems for accountants and bookkeepers
M1 Studio builds websites for small accountancy and bookkeeping practices that set out your packages and fees clearly and make it easy for a sole trader or small company to get in touch. It also sets up follow-up, so a proposal you send doesn’t sit unanswered.

What gets in the way for accountants and bookkeepers.
- Clients buy trust, and your site doesn’t show it
- People are choosing who sees their bank statements. A site with no names, no photos and no professional body listed gives them nothing to trust, however good the practice is.
- Fees nobody can compare
- Many small business owners want a monthly figure before they talk to anyone. If your site says only “contact us for a quote”, they often pick a practice that shows a starting price for their kind of business.
- Everything arrives in January
- The Self Assessment deadline for online returns is 31 January, so the calls and emails from late sole traders pile up exactly when you have the least time to answer them.
- Proposals that go quiet
- You meet a prospect, send a proposal and an engagement letter, and hear nothing. Without a reminder, a good client drifts to whoever followed up.
How your customers choose.
Most small business owners find an accountant through a recommendation, then check the practice online before they call: who the accountants are, which professional body they belong to (ICAEW, ACCA, AAT or ICB, for example), whether the practice works with businesses like theirs, and roughly what it costs. Many now compare fixed monthly packages rather than hourly rates, and they choose on trust, because they’re handing over their finances. Enquiries come in waves: sole traders who have left their Self Assessment late in January, people who have just set up a limited company, and owners unhappy with their current accountant.

Should an accountant show prices on their website?
Many small practices now show “from” prices for their main packages, such as a sole trader Self Assessment or a small limited company. It tells people whether you’re in their range before they call. You still quote properly once you know the business. The Enquiry Page can give one package its own page with a clear price guide.
Can M1 help with Making Tax Digital content?
M1 can build a page that explains the service you offer, in words you approve. Making Tax Digital for Income Tax started in April 2026 for sole traders and landlords with qualifying income over £50,000, and gov.uk sets out the later thresholds. M1 gives no tax advice, so the technical content is yours to check.
How do I stop proposals going quiet?
Send the proposal soon after the meeting, then follow up a few days later and again the next week, each time with something useful. A simple list with reminders does the remembering for you. The guide to following up a quote has example wording.
