Why isn’t my electrical business showing on Google Maps?
Often your Google Business Profile is missing, unverified or thin, or your business name, phone and details don’t match across your website and your NICEIC or NAPIT listing, so Google is less sure who you are. Verify the profile, set Electrician as the main category, list each service you do and make your details identical everywhere.

- Yes, the first steps below
Why it happens to electricians.
- Details don’t match
- Your scheme listing, Companies House record, website and Google profile may each show a slightly different name, number or address. Consistent details help Google trust that they’re all the same business.
- Services aren’t listed
- People search for “EV charger installer”, “EICR” or “rewire”, not just “electrician”. If your profile doesn’t list those services, it has less to match.
- Specialist searches are crowded
- EV charger and solar searches often show national installers and comparison sites. A local electrician needs a complete profile and a clear services page to stand next to them.
- Service areas not set
- If you work from home, your address should be hidden and your service areas set. A half-finished setup can leave the profile unverified.
What to do, in order.
Check your details everywhere
Write down your exact business name, phone number and website. Check your NICEIC or NAPIT listing, website footer and Google profile, and correct any that differ.
Verify and set service areas
Claim the profile, finish verification, hide your home address if customers don’t visit, and list the towns you cover.
List every service
Add EICRs, consumer unit upgrades, rewires, EV chargers, fault finding and anything else you do, each in plain words.
Show your registration
Mention your competent person scheme and Part P notification in your description and on your website, so people see you can sign off your own work.
Have it done for you
The Local Search Fix fills in the profile, fixes key website pages, adds schema markup and sets up review requests to every customer.

Does my NICEIC or NAPIT listing help on Google?
It helps customers check you, and it’s another place your business details appear. Make sure the name, number and website on it match your Google profile exactly.
Should I have separate website pages for EV chargers and EICRs?
Yes, if they’re work you want. A page for each service answers the questions people ask about that job and gives Google something specific to match.
