Why is my physio clinic not showing on Google Maps?
Often the profile is set up for the wrong kind of practice: a physio renting a room in a gym, a home-visit physio showing a home address, or a clinic with one profile for two sites. Match the profile to how patients actually reach you, choose Physiotherapist as the main category and list the conditions and services you treat.

- Yes, the first steps below
Why it happens to physiotherapy clinics.
- Shared premises
- Many physios rent a room inside a gym or another clinic. Google may not show a profile at an address already used by another business unless it’s clearly a separate practice there, with its own signage and hours.
- Home visits
- A physio who visits patients should run a service-area profile with the home address hidden, and service areas set.
- More than one site
- Two clinic locations need two profiles, each verified at its own address. One profile covering both usually shows for neither properly.
- Patients search by problem
- People search “sports injury clinic”, “back pain physio” or “sports massage near me”. A profile that lists no services gives Google little to match.
What to do, in order.
Check how you appear
Search “physio” plus your town in a private window, then search your clinic’s exact name, and note what shows.
Match the profile to your setup
Own premises, shared room, home visits or several sites: set the profile type, address and service areas to match.
Set the category and services
Physiotherapist as the main category. List the conditions and services you treat in plain words.
Show your registration

I rent a room in a gym. Can I have my own Google profile?
Possibly. Google’s guidelines allow separate businesses at the same address when they’re clearly distinct, for example with their own signage and hours. If you can’t meet that, a service-area profile may fit better.
Does HCPC registration help on Google?
It doesn’t change where you appear directly, but patients look for it. “Physiotherapist” is a protected title, so showing your registration helps people trust the profile they’ve found.
