Why is my dental practice website not getting enquiries?
Often the site doesn’t answer what patients check first: whether you’re taking new NHS or private patients, what a treatment costs, and how to book a consultation. Put those answers on clear treatment pages with a booking or enquiry button on each, and keep the wording factual.

- Yes, the first steps below
Why it happens to dental practices.
- The first question isn’t answered
- Many visitors want to know one thing: are you taking new patients, NHS or private? If they have to phone to find out, many won’t.
- Private patients compare treatments
- People looking at implants, clear aligners or whitening compare practices page by page. A one-line mention on a services list gives them nothing to compare.
- No sense of cost
- Without a fee guide or “from” prices, a private patient can’t tell if you’re in their range and moves to a practice that says.
- Advertising rules shape the words
- Dental advertising has to be accurate and can’t promise outcomes. Sites written to be safe often end up vague. Clear facts about the treatment, the dentist and the next step are both allowed and useful.
What to do, in order.
Say who you’re taking on
State plainly on the home page whether you’re accepting new NHS patients, private patients, or both, and keep it up to date.
Build a page per private treatment
What it is, who it suits, how many visits it takes, a “from” price and who carries it out.
Show your team properly
Each dentist’s name, qualifications and GDC number, with a real photo. GDC guidance expects registration details to be shown.
Put a booking step on every page
Online consultation booking or a short enquiry form, not just a phone number that’s busy at 8.30 in the morning.

Can I use before and after photos on a dental website?
Many practices do, but they must be genuine and not misleading. Check the current GDC and ASA guidance before you publish them. M1 doesn’t give legal advice, so treat the rules as yours to confirm.
Should the website show our fees?
A fee guide or “from” prices for private treatments helps patients decide to get in touch. NHS charges are set nationally, so you can simply state which band applies.
