How can a nursery get more Google reviews?
Ask every family for a Google review at natural points, such as after settling in or when a child moves on to school, and send your direct link by text or email. Parents read reviews alongside your Ofsted report, and a steady run of recent ones shows what daily life with you is like.

Why it happens to nurseries and childminders.
- An inspection is a moment in time
- Your Ofsted report reflects the day of the inspection. Reviews show parents what it’s like now, in other parents’ words.
- Happy families rarely post unprompted
- Parents who are pleased tell friends at the gate, not Google, unless someone asks.
- Replies need care
- You can’t name children or discuss families in a public reply, so every reply has to be thought through.
- Settings sit side by side on the map
- A search for “nursery near me” shows several settings with ratings and review counts next to each other.

Ask at milestones
After the settling-in weeks, at the end of a year and when a child leaves for school. Ask every family the same way.
Stay within Google’s rules
No rewards, prize draws or discounts for reviews, and no asking only the families you think are happiest.
Reply without personal details
Thank the parent, never name the child, and take any concern offline.

How should we reply to a negative review?
Briefly and calmly. Thank them, say you take it seriously and invite them to contact the manager. Never share details about any child or family in public. See the Google reviews guide.
Can staff or their friends leave reviews?
No. Reviews should come from real families. Reviews from people with a conflict of interest break Google’s policies and can be removed. See review requests in the glossary.
What does the Local Search Fix cost?
It’s a fixed £800, paid half to start and half at launch. See what’s included.
